Islanders beats Bay State 5-4 after comeback scare

The Bay State Breakers tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but Islanders would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

Islanders made the score 5-2 on a goal by William Platt at 4:31 in the second period, and Bay State got as close as 5-4 when Bradley Power scored 17:20 into the third period.

Islanders was led by Christopher Gravelle, who tallied one goal. Gravelle scored 19:35 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Islanders. David Wilcox assisted on the tally.

Islanders also got points from Christopher Maksut, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Wilcox, who also had one goal and one assist. Islanders also got a goal from Keith Barnaby as well. In addition, Islanders received assists from Cody Reagan, Justin Fisher, Thomas Missert, and Jake Dickson, who each chipped in one.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

The Breakers were helped by Andrew Contillo, who registered two goals. Contillo scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:20 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Bay State had gained a power play chance when Fisher was whistled for interference. Soviero provided the assist. Contillo's next tally on the power play made the score 5-3 Islanders with 13:12 left in the second period. Aaron Fiske picked up the assist. More assists for Bay State came via Dan Gibbons, who had two.

Islanders' Andrew McLeman stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Islanders incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Matthew Farrell made 24 saves for the Breakers on 29 shots. Bay State incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
