Brewster downs Springfield in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Brewster Bulldogs' Ryan Lynagh scored 1:58 into overtime to beat the Springfield Pics, 2-1 (OT).

Brewster's Brandon Belz was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 53 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Belz will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.88.

The Bulldogs were led by Lynagh, who grabbed one goal.

Brewster kept Springfield's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ian Milosz made 32 saves on 34 shots.

Brewster also got points from Patrick McKiernan, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Brewster were Francesco Sherding, Connor Bubolo, and Owen Gatto, who contributed one a piece.

The Pics' offense operated below they season average. Springfield puts an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game. The Pics forced the Bulldogs goalie Belz to work between the pipes, taking 54 shots.

Springfield was led by Thane Schinabeck, who scored the team's only goal. Schinabeck scored 19:18 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Zachary Prout picked up the assist.

Brewster incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Pics incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
