Junior Bruins downs Maksymum in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Junior Bruins pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Maksymum Junior Hockey (Rochester) on a clutch goal by Bryan Carter.

In a losing effort, Maksymum was paced by Corey Sherman, who finished with two goals. Sherman scored the first of his two goals at 54 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. William Holbrook provided the assist. Sherman's next tally made the score 2-1 Maksymum with 3:48 left in the second period. The Junior Hockey (Rochester) earned a power play opportunity when Thomas Fahey was put in the box for tripping. Kevin DiMagno picked up the assist.

Junior Bruins was led by Carter, who tallied one goal. Carter scored 1:27 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Junior Bruins. Ryan OToole provided the assist.

Junior Bruins forced Maksymum goalie Ian Sylves to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots.

Junior Bruins also got points from OToole, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Junior Bruins also got a goal from Robert Houghton as well. More assists for Junior Bruins came via Alexander Pantalone, who had two and Brian Fahey, Kyle Webb, and Zachary Byczko, who contributed one a piece.

The Junior Hockey (Rochester) excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

In addition, Maksymum received assists from Dylan Versage, who had two.

Maxwell Barr made 27 saves for Junior Bruins on 29 shots. Junior Bruins incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Sylves recorded 47 saves for Maksymum. The Junior Hockey (Rochester) incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
