Bunyan stymies Adirondack, Brewster wins 2-1RPI Houston House Sun, Jan 20, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Brewster Bulldogs relied on the sparkling performance of Conor Bunyan in net to grab a 2-1 win against the Adirondack Junior Wings. Brewster was led by Connor Bubolo, who tallied one goal. Bubolo scored 18:49 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Brewster. Patrick McKiernan provided the assist. The Bulldogs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Adirondack power plays. Adirondack was unable to stop Brewster from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bulldogs eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Brewster also got points from Ryan Lynagh, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Brewster were Francesco Sherding, who had one. The Junior Wings forced Brewster goalie Bunyan to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Adirondack was led by Matt Flynn, who scored the team's only goal. Flynn scored 3:42 into the third period to make the score 1-1. The Bulldogs' Bunyan stopped 36 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Brewster incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Crae Messer made 29 saves for the Junior Wings on 31 shots. Adirondack incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
