Springfield boosted by Milosz's play in net, beats Connecticut 4-1

Ian Milosz stood on his head and made 51 saves to lead the Springfield Pics to a 4-1 victory over the Connecticut Oilers.
Springfield was sparked by Alec Robinson, who registered one goal. Robinson scored on the power play 7:25 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Springfield. The Pics had gained a power play chance when Granito was whistled for elbowing. Brandon Korytko picked up the assist.
Springfield put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Connecticut to score on any of its five power plays. The Pics forced the Oilers goalie Christopher Bastone to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.
Springfield also got points from Mario Fontanella, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Robert Smith, who also had one goal and two assists. Matthew Antonacci also scored for Springfield. More assists for Springfield came via Thane Schinabeck, who had two and Logan Schinabeck and Jeremy Wich, who each chipped in one.
The Connecticut penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and one major for 31 minutes in penalty time. The Oilers surpassed its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. Connecticut's offense rang up 52 shots on Springfield's net.
The Pics incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Connecticut's Bastone stopped 38 shots out of the 42 that he faced. For the Oilers, Granito was ejected from the game.
