New Hampshire rips Valley, 5-2Haverhill-North 1 Sat, Jan 19, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The New Hampshire Jr Monarchs had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over the Valley Junior Warriors. New Hampshire was led by Nate Philbrick, who finished with one goal. Philbrick scored 11:48 into the first period to make the score 2-0 New Hampshire. Davis Algra provided the assist. The Jr Monarchs forced Valley goalie Matthew Saraceno to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. New Hampshire also got a goal from Ross Mandigo as well. More assists for New Hampshire came via Connor Merrick, Brent Beaudoin, and Brett Boyer, who each chipped in one and Brian Greene and Adriano Mungioli, who contributed two a piece. The the Junior Warriors penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled eight minors and two majors for 56 minutes in penalty time. Valley surpassed its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game. Dylan Palmer made 23 saves for New Hampshire on 25 shots. The Jr Monarchs totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 3-for-9 on the power play. Saraceno rejected 32 shots on goal for the Junior Warriors. Valley registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
