Jersey Hitmen boosted by OMaley's play in net, beats Suffolk 4-1

Michael OMaley had a standout game with 27 saves, and Jersey Hitmen beat the Suffolk Juniors 4-1.

Jersey Hitmen's penalty kill excelled, as Jersey Hitmen gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

Jersey Hitmen was sparked by Ruslan Rakhmatov, who tallied one goal. Rakhmatov scored on the power play 19:31 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Jersey Hitmen. A holding penalty on Joseph Duszak had put Jersey Hitmen on the power play. Robby Marsanico assisted on the tally.

Jersey Hitmen stifled Suffolk's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Jersey Hitmen forced the Juniors goalie Daniel Potter to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots.

Jersey Hitmen also got points from Marsanico, who also registered one goal and one assist and Glenn Florczak, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Jersey Hitmen also got a goal from Chris Peterson as well. In addition, Jersey Hitmen received assists from Eddie Coxe, Matt Langlois, Andrew Callahan, and Joe Masonius, who each chipped in one.

Suffolk was led by Christopher Seeback, who scored the team's only goal. Seeback scored 11:40 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Jersey Hitmen. Nicholas Mangone picked up the assist.

Jersey Hitmen incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Daniel Potter made 44 saves for the Juniors on 48 shots. Suffolk incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
