Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Atlanta Knights defeated the East Coast Eagles in a shootout 5-4 (2-0 SO). The shootout featured five attempts between both teams. In addition to the clincher, Atlanta got a shootout goal from Jack Trischett.The Knights saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Atlanta made the score 4-2 on a power play goal by Nick Elliott at 2:02 in the third period. East Coast evened things up at 4-4 on a power play goal by Graff Richards at 18:40 in the third period. Elliott had one goal and two assists to lead the Knights. Atlanta's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Knights give up 1.9 goal per game. Atlanta could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 32 minutes in penalties during the game. Atlanta additionally got points from Christopher Santa Maria, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Atlanta also got a goal from harris m as well. In addition, Atlanta received assists from Patrick MacDonald, Trischett, Cale Massa, Ryan Dumond, and Cole Stallard, who contributed one a piece. The Eagles struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 40 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays. East Coast also got points from Matthew Burleson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Collin Duffy also scored for East Coast. Other players who recorded assists for East Coast were Kyle Levere, who had two and Norman Kneubuehler and Shane Selan, who each chipped in one. Sean Davis rejected 23 shots on goal for the Knights. Cory Lignelli recorded 25 saves for East Coast. The Eagles registered one goal on eight power play opportunities.
