Adirondack completes comeback, beats Syracuse, 4-3Cicero NHL Sat, Jan 12, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Syracuse Junior Stars could not hold down the Adirondack Junior Wings, and Junior Wings erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 4-3 win. Adirondack never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Junior Wings trailed 3-1 after a goal by Syracuse's Jesse Farabee at 12:41 in the second period. Adirondack tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Ryan Flynn at 3:25 in the third period. The Junior Wings scored the game winner at 5:59 in the third period on a goal by Flynn. Adirondack managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Junior Wings ended up below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. Adirondack forced the Junior Stars goalie Nate Skidmore to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. The Junior Wings cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring two goals on three chances. Cam Shepardson also scored for Adirondack. Other players who recorded assists for Adirondack were Matt State, who had two and Matt Flynn, Alex Fraser, Sam Vincent, and Dustin Lavalley, who each chipped in one. Syracuse kept Adirondack's goalie busy throughout the game, and Chet Tooker made 49 saves on 52 shots. Syracuse additionally got points from Tyler OMara, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Syracuse received assists from Logan Warren, Anthony Angello, and Ryan Suwek, who contributed one a piece. Nate Skidmore made 28 saves for the Junior Stars on 32 shots. Syracuse incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
