Zachary Pard netted a hat trick to lead the Frederick Freeze over the Potomac Patriots, 5-1. Pard notched his first tally 16:59 into the second period. He then added goals at 1:38 into the third and at 5:05 into the third.Frederick's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Potomac power plays. The Freeze could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game. Frederick also got points from Eric Gausseres, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Logan Coomes, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Frederick received assists from Richard Novodomec, who had two and Ryley Harper, Reid Bibb, Casey Donegan, Samuel Buran, and Florian Cotera, who contributed one a piece. The Potomac penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 10 minors and two majors for 50 minutes in penalty time. The Patriots had been averaging 20.0 minutes in penalties per game. Potomac excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. Frederick's defense shut down the Patriots' forwards for much of the game, and Potomac got off only nine shots during the contest. The Patriots were led by Nicholas Grose, who scored the team's only goal. Grose scored 15:08 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Potomac. Alexander Grose picked up the assist. The Freeze's Michal Marcinek stopped eight shots out of the nine that he faced. TJ Hollen made 24 saves for Potomac on 29 shots. For the Patriots, Miles Miller and Trevor Jenkins were ejected from the contest.
