Suffolk downs Valley in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Suffolk Juniors' Joseph Duszak scored 2:30 into overtime to beat the Valley Junior Warriors, 3-2 (OT).

Suffolk was sparked by Duszak, who had one goal.

Suffolk also got points from Nicholas Mangone, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Suffolk also got a goal from Benjamin Sorkin as well. Other players who recorded assists for Suffolk were Matthew Gault, who had one and Michael Martino, who had two.

Valley put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Juniors to score on any of their eight power plays. The Junior Warriors could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

Valley was helped by Lincoln Vamos, who finished with one goal. Vamos scored 18:37 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Brandon Tuttle provided the assist. Brendan Heinze also scored for Valley. In addition, Valley received assists from Luke Miller, who had one.

Daniel Potter made 12 saves before being replaced by Peter Fosso, who took the win and made 13 saves. Suffolk incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Junior Warriors' Matthew Saraceno stopped 20 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Valley registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
