Jersey Hitmen survives Tampa Bay comeback, wins 4-2

The Tampa Bay Juniors almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but Jersey Hitmen managed to pull out a 4-2 win in the end.

Jersey Hitmen led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Jersey Hitmen's Joe Campisano's scored at 23:47 in the second period to put Jersey Hitmen up 4-1.

Robby Marsanico had one goal and two assists to lead Jersey Hitmen. Marsanico scored 9:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jersey Hitmen. Joe Masonius assisted on the tally.

Jersey Hitmen put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Tampa Bay to score on any of its three power plays. The Juniors were unable to stop Jersey Hitmen from sending pucks towards the net, and Jersey Hitmen eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Jersey Hitmen also got points from Masonius, who also had one goal and one assist. James Martello also scored for Jersey Hitmen. In addition, Jersey Hitmen received assists from Cory Sala, Jonathan Spada, Rory Garlasco, and Brendan Riley, who contributed one a piece.

Tampa Bay's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Jersey Hitmen power plays. The Juniors' offense operated below they season average. Tampa Bay puts an average of 5.5 pucks into the net per game.

The Juniors were helped by Brent Barber, who finished with one goal. Barber scored 18:01 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Jersey Hitmen. Austin Teall picked up the assist. Tampa Bay also got a goal from Kurt Williams as well. More assists for Tampa Bay came via Nicholas Reed and Jesse Bafia, who each chipped in one.

Jersey Hitmen's Jordan Hulahan stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Jersey Hitmen incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Emil Eriksson recorded 33 saves for Tampa Bay. The Juniors incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
