Florida Junior Blades penalty kill dominates in 6-0 defeat of Potomac

Florida Junior Blades, which found itself down a man often, weathered the Potomac Patriots' power play opportunities and emerged with a 6-0 victory.

Florida Junior Blades was led by Brant Takmajian, who finished with one goal. Takmajian scored 24 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Florida Junior Blades. Daniel Thompson picked up the assist.

Florida Junior Blades made Potomac's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 45 shots and forcing 39 saves. Patrick Anderson made 20 stops and TJ Hollen made 19. Florida Junior Blades excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances.

Florida Junior Blades additionally got points from Thompson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Florida Junior Blades also had goals scored by Joshua Koerner, who had two and Kilian McNamara and Saveliy Morozov, who scored one goal each. In addition, Florida Junior Blades received assists from Jonathan Davidson, who had two and Jacob Leonard, Austin Hefferin, Chase Jeppesen, and Trevor Tenner, who each chipped in one.

The Patriots were held below their usual level of production. Potomac averages 2.7 goals per game.

Sergey Hall made 12 saves before being replaced by Eric Sugrue, who took the win and made 13 saves. Florida Junior Blades incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Patriots incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
