Florida Eels outlasts Frederick, 4-3

Florida Eels and the Frederick Freeze were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Florida Eels made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Brian Dennerlein secured the win for Florida Eels with a goal in the second period.

Joshua DeLezenne was all over the ice for Florida Eels, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. DeLezenne scored the first of his two goals at 21:59 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Keanu Gallegos provided the assist. DeLezenne's next tally made the score 4-2 Florida Eels with -82 seconds left in the second period. A cross checking call on Matthew Kiesel put Florida Eels on the penalty kill.

Florida Eels found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 13 shots against Frederick's defense.

Florida Eels additionally got points from Dennerlein, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Patrick Daniels also scored for Florida Eels. More assists for Florida Eels came via Hunter Gonzalez, Jonathan Carlson, and Michael Viera, who each chipped in one.

The Freeze put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Florida Eels to score on any of its five power plays.

Frederick was led by Logan Coomes, who had one goal and one assist. Coomes scored 5:38 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Florian Cotera assisted on the tally. Frederick also got a goal from Nicholas Price as well. Other players who recorded assists for Frederick were Reid Bibb, James Dorrian, and Richard Novodomec, who contributed one a piece.

Marc Terriault recorded 13 saves for Florida Eels. Florida Eels incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Freeze's Michal Marcinek stopped nine shots out of the 13 that he faced. Frederick incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
