Bay State hangs on, beats Palm Beach 2-0

Thomas Cahill scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Bay State Breakers held off the challenges of the Palm Beach Hawks in a tough 2-0 win.

Cahill provided Bay State with the game-winning tally when he scored 14:00 into the the first period. The Breakers had gotten the advantage when Palm Beach's Vincent Cook was sent off for checking from behind. Ryan ODonnell provided the assist.

Bay State was sparked by Cahill, who tallied one goal and one assist.

The Breakers were held below their usual level of production. Bay State puts an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. The Breakers featured an improved defense during the game. Bay State averages 2.6 goals allowed per game. The Breakers kept the Hawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and David Kutnar made 33 saves on 35 shots.

Bay State also got a goal from Nicholas Russo as well. More assists for Bay State came via Collin Vanderveen, who had one.

Palm Beach could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Hawks average 2.5 goals per game.

Keith Inman made 13 saves before being replaced by Kirby Saari, who took the win and made 10 saves. Bay State incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Palm Beach incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
