Adirondack vanquishes Florida Eels in shootout, 4-3 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Adirondack Junior Wings defeated Florida Eels in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams.

Adirondack came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Junior Wings fell behind 3-2 after a goal by Florida Eels' Joshua DeLezenne at 11:03 in the second period. Adirondack knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Ryan Flynn at 21:29 in the second period.

The Junior Wings were efficient when they shot the puck, scoring their goals on only four shots.

Adirondack stifled Florida Eels' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The Junior Wings were helped by Dustin Lavalley, who tallied one goal. Lavalley scored 6:21 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Sam Vincent also scored for Adirondack. In addition, Adirondack received assists from Matt Flynn, who had one.

Florida Eels put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Adirondack to score on any of its five power plays.

Florida Eels was helped by Daniel Boyd, who grabbed one goal. Boyd scored 2:33 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Florida Eels. Florida Eels also got a goal from Brian Dennerlein as well. More assists for Florida Eels came via Keanu Gallegos, who had two.

The Junior Wings incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Adirondack ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Joey Eben was ejected from the game. Florida Eels incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
