Adirondack hangs on, beats East Coast 1-0

Nicholas Oda scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Adirondack Junior Wings held off the challenges of the East Coast Eagles in a tough 1-0 win.

Oda provided Adirondack with the game-winning tally when he scored 17:26 into the the first period. Matt Flynn picked up the assist.

The Junior Wings were led by Oda, who finished with one goal.

Adirondack managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Junior Wings finished below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game.

Other players who recorded assists for Adirondack were Ryan Flynn, who had one.

East Coast managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time. The Eagles ended up below its season average of 19.0 penalty minutes per game. East Coast was held below its usual level of production. The Eagles put an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game.

Adirondack took out Matt Cologgi after he had made 15 saves and installed Crae Messer in goal, where he finished with 10 saves and the win. The Junior Wings registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. Ryan Taylor recorded 19 saves for East Coast. The Eagles registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
