Frederick rips Potomac, 6-1Skate Frederick Sat, Dec 29, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Frederick Freeze were firing on all cylinders against the Potomac Patriots, and when the final buzzer sounded Freeze emerged with a 6-1 win. Frederick's Michal Marcinek was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 29 saves and let only one puck past him. Marcinek certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.16 entering the contest. The Freeze pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 25 penalty minutes. Frederick's offense rang up 42 shots on Potomac's net. The Freeze got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Frederick was helped by Adam Gnatowski, who finished with one goal. Gnatowski scored 17:30 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Frederick. Frederick additionally got points from Reid Bibb, who also registered one goal and one assist, Richard Novodomec, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Logan Coomes, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Florian Cotera, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Nicholas Price also scored for Frederick. Other players who recorded assists for Frederick were Casey Donegan, who had one and Patrick Meigher and Adam Taylor, who each chipped in two. The Freeze registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Patrick Anderson recorded 36 saves for the Patriots. Potomac incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
