NY AppleCore beats Brewster 4-0 as Mutschin gains shutout

Christoph Mutschin recorded a shutout against the Brewster Bulldogs as the NY AppleCore Minor B picked up a 4-0 win.

NY AppleCore was led by Nicolas Jasmin, who grabbed one goal. Jasmin scored on the power play 8:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 NY AppleCore. A roughing penalty on Brad Alexander had put the Minor B on the power play. Michael Conslato provided the assist.

NY AppleCore stifled Brewster's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Minor B was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. NY AppleCore allows 2.1 goals per game. The Minor B kept the Bulldogs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Conor Bunyan made 53 saves on 57 shots.

NY AppleCore also got points from Jonathan Kaszuba, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. NY AppleCore also got a goal from Cale Schoenberg as well. In addition, NY AppleCore received assists from Andrew Barroso, who had one and Nolan Pues, who had two.

Brewster was often in penalty trouble, totaling nine minors and one major for 53 minutes in penalty time. The Bulldogs had been averaging 17.0 minutes in penalties per game. Brewster did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Bulldogs average 3.0 goals per game. NY AppleCore was unable to stop Brewster from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bulldogs eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Mutschin rejected 31 shots on goal for the Minor B. NY AppleCore incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Brewster registered zero goals on five power play opportunities. For the Bulldogs, Francesco Sherding and Blaze Vogliano were ejected from the contest.
