Florida Eels stifles East Coast's comeback, gains 3-1 victory

Florida Eels, which led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Florida Eels and clinched a 3-1 victory.

Florida Eels led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Florida Eels' Jonathan Carlson's scored at 18:41 in the second period to put Florida Eels up 3-0.

Florida Eels was led by Reid Halabi, who tallied one goal. Halabi scored on the power play 18:25 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Florida Eels. Florida Eels had gotten the advantage when the East Coast Eagles' Zachary Mabie was sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct. Daniel Boyd assisted on the tally.

Florida Eels stifled East Coast's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Florida Eels forced the Eagles goalie Ryan Taylor to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Florida Eels found itself short handed often, totaling 26 penalty minutes and allowing three power plays.

Florida Eels additionally got points from Carlson, who also had one goal and one assist and Brandon Hotaling, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Florida Eels received assists from Christian Johansen, who had one and Ryan Deese, who had two.

East Coast racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 10 minors and one major for 35 minutes in penalty time. The Eagles surpassed its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. East Coast's offense operated below it season average. The Eagles put an average of 3.4 pucks into the net per game.

East Coast was led by Graff Richards, who scored the team's only goal. Richards scored 21:31 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Florida Eels. Collin Duffy picked up the assist.

Marc Terriault rejected 22 shots on goal for Florida Eels. Florida Eels registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Taylor recorded 29 saves for the Eagles.
