Maksymum beats Adirondack 11-4 as Versage gets hat trick

Dylan Versage netted a hat trick to lead the Maksymum Junior Hockey (Rochester) over the Adirondack Junior Wings, 11-4.

Versage's first goal came 15:26 into the second period. He then added goals at 3:34 into the third and at 5:03 into the third.

Maksymum forced Adirondack's goaltenders to work in net, finishing with 50 shots and forcing 39 saves. Chet Tooker made 28 stops and Matt Cologgi made 11. The Junior Hockey (Rochester) outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Maksymum averages 4.1 goals per contest.

Maksymum also got points from William Holbrook, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Kevin DiMagno, who also had three goals and one assist. Maksymum also had goals scored by Seth Giles, who had two and Anton Vavenkov and Mikel Williams, who each put in one. More assists for Maksymum came via Tanner Woodruff, who had three, Michael Whitehair, who had four, and Gregory Miller, Kevin Geeza, Daniel Goldstein, Austin Harding, Justus Nowak, Christopher Molnar, and Holvey, who contributed one a piece.

The Junior Wings made Junior Hockey (Rochester)'s goalies to work without much rest, totaling 35 shots and forcing 31 saves. Ian Sylves made 25 stops and Jake Bryniarski made six.

Adirondack was led by Matt Flynn, who grabbed two goals. Flynn scored the first of his two goals at 7:54 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Adirondack. Nicholas Oda assisted on the tally. Flynn's next tally made the score 5-3 Maksymum with 15:51 left in the third period. The Junior Wings earned a power play opportunity when Harding was put in the box for tripping. Brian Daury provided the assist. Adirondack also got a goal from Nick Young as well. In addition, Adirondack received assists from Andrew Bourdeau and Jarrett Distasi, who each chipped in one.

The Junior Hockey (Rochester) incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Adirondack incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
