East Coast beats Space Coast 12-0 as Duffy gets hat trick

Collin Duffy lifted the East Coast Eagles to a 12-0 victory with a hat trick against the Space Coast Hurricanes.

Duffy's first goal came 9:38 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:03 into the first and at 24:48 into the second.

East Coast made Hurricanes' goalies to work all game long, finishing with 80 shots and forcing 68 saves. Joseph Herda made 53 stops and Brendon Hanser made 15. The Eagles found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, East Coast averages 3.8 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

East Coast also got points from Matthew Burleson, who also registered one goal and one assist, Chase Horn, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Brandon Stanley, who also had one goal and three assists, Graff Richards, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Jacob Weldon, who also registered one goal and one assist, Connor Sheehey, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Bailey King, who also had one goal and one assist. East Coast also got a goal from Shane Selan as well. Other players who recorded assists for East Coast were Bruce Chappell, who had one, Kyle Levere, who had two, and Thomas Gilmartin and Christopher Grosvenor, who each chipped in three.

Space Coast's offense was handcuffed by the Eagles' defensive play, and the Hurricanes managed only 12 shots on goal during the game.

Roman Riselvato made 12 saves for East Coast on 12 shots. The Eagles totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 2-for-2 on the power play. Space Coast totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
