The Tampa Bay Juniors beat the Atlanta Knights, 2-1, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. Zachary Capco provided Tampa Bay with the game-winning tally when he scored 5:51 into the the first period. Nicholas Frankich picked up the assist.The Juniors' Emil Eriksson was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 28 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Eriksson will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.61. Tampa Bay was led by JC Bradley, who tallied one goal. Bradley scored 8:23 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Tampa Bay. Ed Kawczak provided the assist. The Juniors excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Tampa Bay's offense operated below it season average. The Juniors put an average of 5.8 pucks into the net per game. Atlanta put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Tampa Bay to score on any of its five power plays. The Knights could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Atlanta averages 4.1 goals per game. The Knights were led by Zachary Egan, who scored the team's only goal. Egan scored 22:16 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Tampa Bay. Alex MacInnis picked up the assist. The Juniors incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
