Suffolk squeaks by Jersey Wildcats, 4-2

The Suffolk Juniors gutted out a close 4-2 win against Jersey Wildcats.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Michael Gilroy at 13:11 of the second period.

Suffolk was paced by Matthew Gault, who registered one goal and one assist. Gault scored on the power play 14:02 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Suffolk. The Juniors had gained a power play chance when Gage Malinowski was whistled for tripping.

Suffolk was led by Gault, who tallied one goal and one assist.

The Juniors excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Suffolk's offense rang up 59 shots on Jersey Wildcats' net.

Suffolk also got points from Gilroy, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Nicholas Mangone also scored for Suffolk. In addition, Suffolk received assists from Tyler Murphy, who had one.

Jersey Wildcats kept the Juniors' goalie busy throughout the game, and Peter Fosso made 34 saves on 36 shots.

Jersey Wildcats was led by Lucas Moser, who grabbed two goals. Moser scored the first of his two goals at 16:12 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brandon Crawley provided the assist. Moser's next tally made the score 3-2 Suffolk with 3:34 left in the second period. Christopher Sanchez assisted on the tally. More assists for Jersey Wildcats came via Ryan Strapp, who had one.

Suffolk incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Grant Perry made 55 saves for Jersey Wildcats on 59 shots. Jersey Wildcats incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
