Frederick pulls away in second, rolls over Brewster, 7-2

The Brewster Bulldogs allowed the Frederick Freeze to net three goals during the second period and fell, 7-2.

Pierce McCaull had two goals to lead Frederick to victory. McCaull scored at 21 seconds into the second period to make the score 3-1 Frederick and again while 19:42 into the third to make the score 7-2 Frederick.

The Freeze's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Brewster power plays. Frederick kept Brewster's goalie busy throughout the game, and Conor Bunyan made 48 saves on 55 shots. The Freeze's goal total was higher than their season average. Frederick has scored at the pace of 4.1 goals per game during the current campaign.

Frederick additionally got points from Richard Novodomec, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Frederick also had goals scored by Reid Bibb, who had two and Zachary Pard and Florian Cotera, who each put in one. More assists for Frederick came via Ian Soifer, who had two and James Stiles, Patrick Meigher, and Logan Coomes, who contributed one a piece.

The Freeze were unable to stop the Bulldogs from sending pucks towards the net, and Brewster eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Penalties took their toll on the Bulldogs, as their penalty kill unit let in three power play goals.

Brewster was led by Blaze Vogliano, who had one goal. Vogliano scored 8:48 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brewster. Christopher Litwin assisted on the tally. Jonathan Lovorn also scored for Brewster. Other players who recorded assists for Brewster were Brett Barry, Kevin McGee, and Brian Schiff, who each chipped in one.

Daniel Dolliver recorded 33 saves for Frederick. The Freeze incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Bulldogs incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
