Florida Eels penalty kill dominates in 7-0 defeat of Space Coast

Florida Eels' penalty kill was superb, as Florida Eels survived multiple penalties to beat the Space Coast Hurricanes, 7-0.

Florida Eels was paced by Ryan Frank, who finished with one goal and one assist. Frank scored 3:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Florida Eels. Daniel Boyd picked up the assist.

Florida Eels' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Space Coast power plays. Florida Eels kept Space Coast's goalie busy throughout the game, and Harrison Vangellow made 52 saves on 59 shots.

Florida Eels additionally got points from Keanu Gallegos, who also tallied two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Florida Eels also had goals scored by Brian Dennerlein, who had two and Matthew Kiesel and Patrick Daniels, who scored one goal each. More assists for Florida Eels came via Ryan Deese, Mark Marsala, and Josh Lodatto, who contributed one a piece and Joshua DeLezenne and Jonathan Carlson, who each chipped in two.

The Hurricanes racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and one major for 21 minutes in penalty time. Space Coast had been averaging 16.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Hurricanes found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 14 shots against Florida Eels' defense.

David Bryant recorded 14 saves for Florida Eels. Florida Eels incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
