New Hampshire vanquishes Bay State in shootout, 5-4 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the New Hampshire Jr Monarchs defeated the Bay State Breakers in a shootout 5-4 (2-1 SO).

The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams. Bay State's shootout goal was scored by Christopher Duffy. New Hampshire's other shootout goal was scored by Shane Tracy.

The Jr Monarchs were paced by Stephen Wolf, who had one goal and one assist. Wolf scored 6:05 into the third period to make the score 4-3 New Hampshire.

New Hampshire was led by Wolf, who finished with one goal and one assist.

The Jr Monarchs stifled the Breakers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. New Hampshire forced Bay State goalie Redmund Hunt to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. The Jr Monarchs' normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. New Hampshire averages 1.9 goal allowed per game.

New Hampshire also got a goal from Adriano Mungioli as well. More assists for New Hampshire came via Connor Merrick, Ross Mandigo, Nate Philbrick, Christopher Moquin, and Michael Bears, who each chipped in one.

The Breakers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three New Hampshire power plays. Bay State's offense rang up 42 shots on the Jr Monarchs' net. The Breakers' defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Bay State gives up 2.3 goals per game.

The Breakers were helped by Ryan ODonnell, who racked up two goals. ODonnell scored the first of his two goals at 13:33 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Bay State. Gavin Yates assisted on the tally. ODonnell's next tally made the score 4-4 with 8:29 left in the third period. John Duranczyk provided the assist. Bay State additionally got points from Kevin Sheehan, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Nicholas Russo, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Bay State received assists from Christopher Perry, who had two and Charles Murphy and Duffy, who contributed one a piece.

Dylan Palmer recorded 38 saves for New Hampshire. The Jr Monarchs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Redmund Hunt made 44 saves for Bay State on 48 shots. The Breakers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
