Jersey Wildcats' comeback falls short, Jersey Hitmen wins 6-4

Jersey Hitmen, which led by four goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Jersey Hitmen and clinched a 6-4 victory.

Jersey Hitmen led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Jersey Hitmen's Vincenzo Addeo's scored at 18:12 in the second period to put Jersey Hitmen up 5-1.

Robby Marsanico had one goal and two assists to lead Jersey Hitmen. Marsanico scored 14 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Jersey Hitmen. James Martello assisted on the tally.

In a losing effort, Jersey Wildcats was led by Erik Andersson, who finished with two goals. Andersson scored the first of his two goals at 14:50 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jack Green picked up the assist. Andersson's next tally made the score 5-3 Jersey Hitmen with 18:03 left in the third period. Geoffrey Liter assisted on the tally.

Jersey Hitmen racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and one major for 21 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 18.0 minutes per game Jersey Hitmen had been spending in the box. Jersey Wildcats was unable to stop Jersey Hitmen from sending pucks towards the net, and Jersey Hitmen eventually piled up 62 shots on goal.

Jersey Hitmen additionally got points from Addeo, who also registered one goal and one assist. Lucas Luppino also scored for Jersey Hitmen. More assists for Jersey Hitmen came via David Kleyman, who had three and James Felice, TJ Thaler, Dylan Healey, and David Kearns, who contributed one a piece.

Jersey Wildcats forced Jersey Hitmen goalie Ryan Glander to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Jersey Wildcats could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

Jersey Wildcats also got points from Green, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Liter, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Jersey Wildcats received assists from Lucas Moser and Zakariya Sheikh, who each chipped in one and Christopher Sanchez and Ryan Strapp, who contributed two a piece.

Ryan Glander made 30 saves for Jersey Hitmen on 34 shots. Jersey Hitmen registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. Grant Perry rejected 56 shots on goal for Jersey Wildcats. Jersey Wildcats registered three goals on nine power play opportunities.
