Islanders' Christopher Maksut scored 27 seconds into overtime to beat the Portland Jr Pirates, 6-5 (OT).

Although Islanders was up by as many as three goals in the third period, Portland kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Jr Pirates got to within 5-4 on a goal by Justin Munck at 16:52 in the third period.

Cody Reagan was all over the ice for Islanders, as he finished with two goals in the win. Reagan's tallies came on the power play at 8:30 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and 17:56 into the first to make the score 2-1 Islanders.

Islanders kept Portland's goalie busy throughout the game, and Maxwell Boucher made 29 saves on 35 shots. Islanders outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, Islanders averages 3.4 goals per contest. Islanders cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring three goals on five chances.
