Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Palm Beach Hawks defeated Florida Eels in a shootout 8-7 (2-0 SO). The shootout featured eight attempts between both teams. Palm Beach also got a shootout goal from Shane Visnick.The Hawks came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Palm Beach fell behind 7-5 after a goal by Florida Eels' Joshua DeLezenne at 13:44 in the third period. The Hawks knotted things up at 7-7 on a goal by Visnick at 19:04 in the third period. The teams traded the lead four times and neither team could skate away and hide. Florida Eels took its last lead at 10:51 in the third on a goal by Jonathan Carlson to make the score 6-5 Florida Eels. Palm Beach took over the lead for good with a goal by Brett Yochum 29 seconds into the third to make the score 5-4.
