Atlanta survives East Coast comeback, wins 2-1

The East Coast Eagles tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Atlanta Knights would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 2-1.

Atlanta made the score 2-0 on a goal by Se Kim at 18:30 in the second period, and East Coast got as close as 2-1 when Zachary Mabie scored 19:39 into the third period.

The Knights were led by Kim, who had one goal and one assist.

Atlanta's offense operated below it season average. The Knights put an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. Atlanta forced the Eagles goalie Ryan Taylor to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots.

Jack Trischett also scored for Atlanta. Other players who recorded assists for Atlanta were Austin Ventura, who had one.

East Coast excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Eagles could not produce up to they normal offensive output. East Coast averages 3.4 goals per game. The Eagles did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 14 shots on net to force 13 saves.

In addition, East Coast received assists from Connor Sheehey and Christopher Grosvenor, who contributed one a piece.

The Knights' Lucas Thurston stopped 13 shots out of the 14 that he faced. Atlanta incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Ryan Taylor made 46 saves for East Coast on 48 shots. The Eagles incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
