NY AppleCore blows out Suffolk, 5-2

The NY AppleCore Minor B were firing on all cylinders against the Suffolk Juniors, and when the final buzzer sounded Minor B emerged with a 5-2 win.

NY AppleCore pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 29 penalty minutes.

The Minor B were led by Nicholas Mardirossian, who grabbed one goal. Mardirossian scored 12:24 into the first period to make the score 3-1 NY AppleCore. James Sharpe assisted on the tally.

NY AppleCore's offense rang up 35 shots on Suffolk's net. The Minor B was effective with a man advantage, and put in two goals while on the power play.

NY AppleCore also got points from Blake Manginell, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Andrew DeAngelis also scored for NY AppleCore. More assists for NY AppleCore came via Dominick Sacco, Zachary Stamates, Cameron Giertych, Cale Schoenberg, Jonas Toupal, John Stevenson, Kevin T Miller, and Jonathan Kaszuba, who contributed one a piece.

The Juniors kept NY AppleCore's goalie busy throughout the game, and Justin Kapelmaster made 39 saves on 41 shots.

Suffolk was helped by Andrew Cozzi, who had one goal. Cozzi scored 5:05 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Michael Martino picked up the assist. Suffolk also got a goal from Nicholas Mangone as well. In addition, Suffolk received assists from Donato Cipriano, Tyler Murphy, and Joseph Duszak, who each chipped in one.

Peter Fosso recorded 30 saves for the Juniors. Suffolk incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
