The Syracuse Junior Stars tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Frederick Freeze held on for a 3-2 victory.

Frederick took a 2-0 lead during the third period, only to have Syracuse storm back on a Anthony Angello goal 10:35 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Logan Coomes was all over the ice for the Freeze, as he registered two goals in the win.

Frederick forced the Junior Stars goalie Matt Schneider to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Frederick also got a goal from Florian Cotera as well. Other players who recorded assists for Frederick were Reid Bibb, who had one and Adam Taylor, who had two.

Syracuse stifled the Freeze's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Junior Stars' offense rang up 38 shots on Frederick's net.

Tyler OMara also scored for Syracuse. More assists for Syracuse came via Joey Rutkowski, who had one.

The Freeze's Michal Marcinek stopped 36 shots out of the 38 that he faced. Frederick incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Matt Schneider made 38 saves for Syracuse on 41 shots. The Junior Stars incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
