Rubenstein lifts Brewster over Connecticut, 7-4

David Rubenstein had two goals to lead the Brewster Bulldogs to a 7-4 victory over the Connecticut Oilers.

Rubenstein's tallies came at 4:31 into the third period to make the score 4-4 and 9:33 into the third to make the score 5-4 Brewster.

Brewster kept Connecticut's goalie busy throughout the game, and Christopher Bastone made 31 saves on 38 shots. The Bulldogs bested their season scoring average. Brewster averages 3.2 goals per game.

Brewster also got points from Matt Smethurst, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points and Satello, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Brewster also got a goal from Lukas Znosko as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brewster were Brett Barry and Kevin McGee, who each chipped in one and Jonathan Lovorn and Zachary White, who contributed two a piece.

The Oilers forced the Bulldogs goalie Conor Bunyan to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

Connecticut was led by Mark Leprine, who racked up two goals and one assist. Leprine scored the first of his two goals at 19:28 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Stephan Seeger provided the assist. Leprine's next tally made the score 3-3 with 18:32 left in the third period. Seeger picked up the assist. McKay Flanagan also scored for Connecticut. More assists for Connecticut came via Thomas Worsfold, who had one.

Bunyan rejected 37 shots on goal for Brewster. The Bulldogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Oilers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
