Salem outlasts Palm Beach, 4-3

The Salem Ice Dogs and the Palm Beach Hawks were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Salem made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Christopher Minter secured the win for the Ice Dogs with a goal in the second period.

Salem pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 12 penalty minutes.

The Ice Dogs were led by Minter, who finished with one goal. Minter scored 23:17 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Salem. George Winer assisted on the tally.

Palm Beach was unable to stop Salem from sending pucks towards the net, and the Ice Dogs eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Salem got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Salem additionally got points from Bobby Mullins, who also registered one goal and one assist. Salem also got a goal from Nicholas Nonis as well. More assists for Salem came via Daniel Duggan, who had two and Justin McKelvey and Trevor Bettano, who contributed one a piece.

The Hawks were helped by Alexander Rudolph, who tallied one goal. Rudolph scored 13:10 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Palm Beach. Michael Visnick also scored for Palm Beach. In addition, Palm Beach received assists from Kyle Kohlhorst, Brett Yochum, and James Leicht, who each chipped in one.

Bradley Radin made 15 saves for the Ice Dogs on 18 shots. Salem registered one goal on five power play opportunities. David Kutnar rejected 32 shots on goal for Palm Beach. The Hawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
