Huge game by Resop boosts Junior Bruins over Palm Beach, 9-0

Junior Bruins' Daniel Resop had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team's 9-0 win over the Palm Beach Hawks.

Resop beat Adam Silverstein with a shot 22:30 into the second period to make the score 8-0 Junior Bruins. Resop dished an assist on Zach Koonce's goal that made the score 3-0 Junior Bruins at 4:21 into the first period. He then added assists on Jeremy Hannah's goal at 10:30 into the first and on Hannah's goal at 22:57 into the second.

Junior Bruins forced Hawks' goalies to work all game long, getting 70 shots and forcing 61 saves. Silverstein made 13 stops and Stephen Sundberg made 48. Junior Bruins managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Junior Bruins ended up below its season average of 12.0 penalty minutes per game. Junior Bruins surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Junior Bruins averages 4.5 goals per game.

Junior Bruins additionally got points from Robert Houghton, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Hannah, who also registered two goals and one assist, Zachary Byczko, who also had one goal and one assist, Kyle Griffin, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Koonce, who also registered one goal and two assists. Michael Kantorski also scored for Junior Bruins. In addition, Junior Bruins received assists from Bryan Carter, who had two and Cam Cottam, Alexander Pantalone, and Kyle Webb, who each chipped in one.

Palm Beach's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Junior Bruins power plays. The Hawks did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Palm Beach puts an average of 2.9 pucks into the net per game. The Hawks did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 13 shots on net to force 13 saves.

Mario Pizzeri recorded 13 saves for Junior Bruins. Palm Beach incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
