Missert leads Islanders over Space Coast, 9-0

Islanders' Thomas Missert had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 9-0 win over the Space Coast Hurricanes.

Missert found the back of the net 8:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Islanders and again while 19:19 into the second to make the score 8-0 Islanders.

Islanders kept Space Coast's goalie busy throughout the game, and Harrison Vangellow made 29 saves on 38 shots. Islanders found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Islanders averages 3.2 goals per game.

Islanders additionally got points from Christopher Maksut, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Cody Reagan, who also registered one goal and one assist, William Platt, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, and Charles Haddick, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Andrew Newis also scored for Islanders. More assists for Islanders came via Justin Fisher, who had two, David Wilcox, who had three, and Bradford Anderson, RJ Tiorano, Jonathan Pate, Nicholas Falbo, and Zachary Poorman, who each chipped in one.

Islanders' defense shut down the Hurricanes' forwards for much of the game, and Space Coast got off only seven shots during the contest.

Islanders' Alexander Scanlon stopped seven shots out of the seven that he faced. Islanders incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Hurricanes totaled seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
