A stellar performance between the pipes by Daniel Potter helped the Suffolk Juniors defeat Florida Junior Blades, 2-1.

Suffolk was led by Michael Martino, who tallied one goal. Martino scored 18:28 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Suffolk. Joseph Duszak picked up the assist.

The Juniors forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up seven minors and two majors for 44 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 20.0 minutes per game Suffolk had been spending in the box. The Juniors' power play unit failed to produce, and was held to zero goals on 10 chances.

Thomas Dunn also scored for Suffolk. In addition, Suffolk received assists from Andrew Cozzi and Joseph Walsh, who contributed one a piece.

Florida Junior Blades racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 11 minors and three majors for 57 minutes in penalty time. Florida Junior Blades surpassed its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game. Florida Junior Blades stifled Suffolk's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Florida Junior Blades did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. Florida Junior Blades averages 3.9 goals per game. Florida Junior Blades was led by Joshua Koerner, who scored the team's only goal. Koerner scored on the power play 5:01 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Florida Junior Blades had gained a power play chance when Nicholas Ambery was whistled for facemask. Jacob Carter assisted on the tally.

Suffolk's Potter stopped 48 shots out of the 49 that he faced. Team's Potter and Ambery were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Carter rejected 24 shots on goal for Florida Junior Blades. Florida Junior Blades registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For Florida Junior Blades, Daniel Thompson and Chris Lepore were ejected from the contest.
