Bay State's Duffy deadly on offense in 6-3 win against Connecticut

Behind a great game by Christopher Duffy, who had two goals, the Bay State Breakers defeated the Connecticut Oilers, 6-3.

Duffy scored on the power play at 6:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Bay State and again while 8:51 into the first to make the score 2-1 Bay State.

Bay State forced Connecticut goalie Millendorf to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Bay State also got points from Ryan Dunn, who also registered two goals and one assist, Antonio Marini, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Bradley Power, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Bay State received assists from Ryan ODonnell, who had three and Collin Vanderveen, John Duranczyk, John Sheehan, Kevin Sheehan, and Thomas Cahill, who contributed one a piece.

The Oilers were led by Brett Backman, who had one goal and one assist. Backman scored on the power play 19:12 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Connecticut had taken the advantage when the Breakers' Sheehan got sent off for roughing. Stephan Seeger provided the assist. Patrick Iodirno also scored for Connecticut. Other players who recorded assists for Connecticut were Philip Prins and Adam Luchak, who each chipped in one.

Trevor Trudeau rejected 24 shots on goal for Bay State. The Breakers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Millendorf recorded 43 saves for the Oilers. Connecticut incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
