South Shore beats Suffolk 6-3 as Jacques gets hat trick

The Suffolk PAL could not stop the South Shore Kings' Evan Jacques, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-3 win.

Jacques notched his first tally 6:23 into the first period. He then added goals at 21:35 into the first and at 15:38 into the second.

South Shore made Suffolk's goalies to work without much rest, taking 32 shots and forcing 26 saves. Peter Fosso made 11 stops and Daniel Potter made 15. The Kings put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the PAL to score on any of their five power plays.

Brian Cahalane also scored for South Shore. More assists for South Shore came via Daniel Clifford, who had two and Beau Starrett, Paul Marino, and William Sweezey, who contributed one a piece.

Suffolk's penalty kill unit could not stop South Shore's power play, which converted on two of three opportunities.

The PAL were helped by Christopher Seeback, who racked up one goal. Seeback scored 18:11 into the second period to make the score 5-3 South Shore. Matthew Gault picked up the assist. Suffolk also got points from Thomas Dunn, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Suffolk also got a goal from Michael Leone as well. In addition, Suffolk received assists from Nicholas Ambery and Benjamin Sorkin, who each chipped in one.

Kory LeBlanc recorded 24 saves for the Kings. South Shore incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Suffolk incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
