Huge game by Beaudoin boosts New Hampshire over South Shore, 8-2Foxboro Rink 1 Sun, Oct 28, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The New Hampshire Jr Monarchs' Brent Beaudoin had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 8-2 win over the South Shore Kings. Beaudoin scored 4:00 into the second period to make the score 3-1 New Hampshire. Michael Bears provided the assist. Beaudoin dished an assist on Brett Boyer's goal that made the score 1-1 at 2:32 into the second period. He added another helper on Ross Mandigo's goal that made the score 2-1 New Hampshire at 3:28 into the second period.New Hampshire pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 35 penalty minutes. The Jr Monarchs made Kings' goalies to work in net, finishing with 35 shots and forcing 27 saves. Ian Freeman made 22 stops and Kory LeBlanc made five. The defensemen of New Hampshire were also effective in South Shore's zone, and came away with two goals. New Hampshire also got points from Nate OBrien, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, Shane Tracy, who also had three goals and one assist to lead the team in points, and Boyer, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for New Hampshire were Connor Merrick, who had three and Jonathan Kostial, Brendan Tazumi, and Daniel Nolte, who each chipped in one. The Kings did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. South Shore averages 5.1 goals per game. The Jr Monarchs were unable to stop the Kings from sending pucks towards the net, and South Shore eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. The Kings were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 18 penalty minutes. South Shore was led by Philip Falkof, who finished with one goal. Falkof scored short handed 17:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 South Shore. The Kings found themselves down a man on Paul Wagner's tripping. Evan Jacques picked up the assist. Christopher Oliveira also scored for South Shore. More assists for South Shore came via Kevin Divver and JB Sweeney, who contributed one a piece. New Hampshire's Cole Burack stopped 29 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Jr Monarchs registered two goals on six power play opportunities. South Shore registered one goal on eight power play opportunities.
