Adirondack rips Frederick, 6-3

The Frederick Freeze had trouble finding ways to stop the Adirondack Junior Wings, which beat Freeze, 6-3.

Cam Shepardson was all over the ice for Adirondack, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Shepardson scored 10:49 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Adirondack. Jarrett Distasi provided the assist.

The Junior Wings kept Frederick's goalie busy throughout the game, and Daniel Dolliver made 43 saves on 49 shots. Adirondack bested its season scoring average. The Junior Wings have scored at the pace of 3.0 goals per game during the current campaign.

Adirondack additionally got points from Nicholas Oda, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Matt Flynn also scored for Adirondack. More assists for Adirondack came via Nick Young, David Wilgocki, and Shane Kanaly, who contributed one a piece.

The Freeze forced Adirondack goalie Matt Cologgi to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Frederick was helped by Casey Donegan, who finished with one goal. Donegan scored on the power play 8:29 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Adirondack. The Freeze earned a power play opportunity when Distasi was put in the box for cross checking. Ryley Harper picked up the assist. Frederick also got a goal from Patrick Meigher as well. In addition, Frederick received assists from Pierce McCaull, Zachary Pard, Nicholas Price, and Logan Coomes, who each chipped in one.

Matt Cologgi made 39 saves for the Junior Wings on 42 shots. Adirondack totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-8 on the power play. For the Junior Wings, Joey Eben was ejected from the game. Frederick incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
