Florida Eels rolls over Tampa Bay, 6-3

Florida Eels had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-3 win over the Tampa Bay Juniors.

Florida Eels got the win on the strength of a great game by Patrick Daniels, who had one goal and two assists. Daniels scored on the power play 4:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Florida Eels. Joshua DeLezenne picked up the assist.

Florida Eels forced Tampa Bay goalie Emil Eriksson to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

Florida Eels also got points from Daniel Boyd, who also had one goal and two assists, Matthew Kiesel, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Max Mazzullo, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Nick Cormier also scored for Florida Eels. In addition, Florida Eels received assists from Ryan Frank, Jonathan Carlson, and Brandon Hotaling, who contributed one a piece.

The Juniors' offense rang up 41 shots on Florida Eels' net. Tampa Bay found itself short handed often, totaling 38 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays.

The Juniors were helped by Jesse Bafia, who registered one goal. Bafia scored 9:11 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brendan Nicholson assisted on the tally. Tampa Bay also got a goal from Brent Barber as well. More assists for Tampa Bay came via Kurt Williams, who had two and Dylan Longo, Austin Teall, and Christian Aunspaugh, who each chipped in one.

Marc Terriault made 38 saves for Florida Eels on 41 shots. Florida Eels incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Eriksson rejected 28 shots on goal for Tampa Bay. The Juniors registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
