NY AppleCore boosted by Kapelmaster's play in net, beats Suffolk 3-1

The NY AppleCore Minor B relied on the sparkling performance of Justin Kapelmaster in net to grab a 3-1 win against the Suffolk PAL.

NY AppleCore was led by Blake Manginell, who tallied one goal. Manginell scored 14:50 into the third period to make the score 2-1 NY AppleCore. Cale Schoenberg picked up the assist.

The Minor B stifled Suffolk's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. NY AppleCore kept the PAL's goalie busy throughout the game, and Daniel Potter made 31 saves on 34 shots.

James Sharpe also scored for NY AppleCore. In addition, NY AppleCore received assists from Nolan Pues, who had two and Liam Pues, Jonathan Kaszuba, and Robert DeLury, who each chipped in one.

Suffolk could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The PAL put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

Suffolk was led by Benjamin Sorkin, who scored the team's only goal. Sorkin scored 14:18 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Michael Leone provided the assist.

Justin Kapelmaster made 27 saves for the Minor B on 28 shots. NY AppleCore incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The PAL incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
