Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Connecticut Oilers defeated the Brewster Bulldogs in a shootout 2-1 (1-0 SO). The two teams needed six turns to complete the shootout.Brewster was stymied by Connecticut netminder Gryphon Richardson, who stopped 47 shots during the victory. Richardson certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.04 entering the contest. The Oilers' offense rang up 49 shots on the Bulldogs' net. Connecticut was led by Philip Prins, who tallied one goal. Prins scored 18:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Connecticut. Stephan Seeger provided the assist.
