A stellar performance between the pipes by Ian Freeman helped the South Shore Kings defeat Islanders, 5-1. Dillon Gargano was all over the ice for South Shore, as he had two goals in the win. Gargano scored on the power play at 13:37 into the first period to make the score 2-0 South Shore and again while on the power play 12:38 into the third to make the score 4-1 South Shore. The Kings' penalty kill excelled, as South Shore gave up zero goals despite allowing nine power plays. The Kings stifled Islanders' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. South Shore's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Kings finished with 20 penalty minutes. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. South Shore additionally got points from Evan Jacques, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. South Shore also got a goal from Brian Cahalane as well. More assists for South Shore came via Paul Marino, who had two and Beau Starrett, Stephen Rocchio, Daniel Clifford, Connor Johnson, and Kyle Johnson, who each chipped in one. Islanders was led by William Platt, who scored the team's only goal. Platt scored 16:44 into the first period to make the score 2-1 South Shore. Keith Barnaby provided the assist. Ian Freeman made 28 saves for South Shore on 29 shots. The Kings registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. Michael Kitts rejected 20 shots on goal for Islanders. Islanders incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
