Florida Eels beats Space Coast 9-0 as Gallegos gets hat trick

Keanu Gallegos netted a hat trick to lead Florida Eels over the Space Coast Hurricanes, 9-0.

Gallegos' first goal came 9:53 into the second period. He then added goals at 13:34 into the second and at 18:08 into the second.

Florida Eels managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Florida Eels wound up below its season average of 13.0 penalty minutes per game. Space Coast was unable to stop Florida Eels from sending pucks towards the net, and Florida Eels eventually piled up 82 shots on goal. Florida Eels found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Florida Eels has scored at the pace of 4.7 goals per game during the current campaign. Florida Eels got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Florida Eels additionally got points from Joshua DeLezenne, who also tallied one goal and three assists, Daniel Boyd, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Josh Lodatto, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Florida Eels also got a goal from Brian Dennerlein as well. Other players who recorded assists for Florida Eels were Matthew Kiesel, who had two and Stephen Bourque, Nick Cormier, and Jonathan Carlson, who contributed one a piece.

The Hurricanes put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Florida Eels to score on any of its three power plays. Space Coast found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 14 shots against Florida Eels' defense.

Florida Eels took out Ryley Hynes after he had made 10 saves and installed Marc Terriault in goal, where he finished with four saves and the win. The Hurricanes' Brendon Hanser stopped 73 shots out of the 82 that he faced. Space Coast incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Hurricanes ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Coach Chad Wilcox was ejected from the game.
