Boston Bandits shrugs off penalties, upends Islanders, 7-3

Islanders failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and Boston Bandits shook off a number of penalties to win, 7-3.

Boston Bandits was led by James Young, who finished with one goal. Young scored 17:45 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Boston Bandits. John Malewicz provided the assist.

Boston Bandits stifled Islanders' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Boston Bandits kept Islanders' goalie busy throughout the game, and Michael Kitts made 27 saves on 34 shots. Boston Bandits' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Boston Bandits also got points from Malewicz, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Kevin Yun, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Connor Graham, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Boston Bandits also got a goal from Matthew Grzybinski as well. More assists for Boston Bandits came via Connor Wiggins, who had two and Brandon Seal, Connor Sweeney, Derek Ridgway, Corbett McLucas, and Taylor Hale, who each chipped in one.

Islanders was helped by Justin Fisher, who finished with one goal. Fisher scored 9:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Islanders. David Wilcox picked up the assist. Islanders additionally got points from Keith Barnaby, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Harris Montayne also scored for Islanders. In addition, Islanders received assists from Nicholas McNally and Andrew Newis, who contributed one a piece.

Ryan McCarthy recorded 24 saves for Boston Bandits. Boston Bandits incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Islanders incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
