Maksymum vanquishes Philadelphia in shootout, 4-3 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Maksymum Junior Hockey (Rochester) defeated the Philadelphia Revolution in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO).

The shootout lasted for five attempts between the teams. Philadelphia got a shootout goal from Travis Kauffman. Maksymum's other shootout goal was scored by Kevin DiMagno.

The Junior Hockey (Rochester) saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Maksymum made the score 3-1 on a goal by Tanner Woodruff at 13:29 in the second period. The Revolution evened things up at 3-3 on a goal by Donald Willier at 17:33 in the third period.

The Junior Hockey (Rochester) pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 18 penalty minutes.

Maksymum's offense rang up 32 shots on Philadelphia's net.

The Junior Hockey (Rochester) were led by Dylan Versage, who had two goals. Versage scored the first of his two goals at 16:35 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Maksymum. William Holbrook assisted on the tally. Versage's next tally made the score 2-0 Maksymum with 18:19 left in the second period. Luke Gensler picked up the assist. Other players who recorded assists for Maksymum were Austin Harding, Michael Whitehair, and Bryan Carville, who contributed one a piece.

The Revolution excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Philadelphia did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Revolution put an average of 5.1 pucks into the net per game. Philadelphia kept Maksymum's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ryan Morey made 30 saves on 33 shots. The Revolution's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. Philadelphia is averaging 1.9 goal against for the season.

The Revolution were led by Alex Dyer, who finished with two goals. Dyer scored the first of his two goals at 13:06 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Maksymum. Clint Aussprung assisted on the tally. Dyer's next tally made the score 3-2 Maksymum with 4:22 left in the third period. Philadelphia had gained a power play chance when Thomas Grammatico was whistled for tripping. Connor Bechtel picked up the assist. More assists for Philadelphia came via Chris Connor and Zachary England, who each chipped in one.

Justin Kirk recorded 28 saves for the Revolution. Philadelphia incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
