Perry leads Jersey Wildcats to shutout victory over BuffaloHoliday Twin Rinks Sun, Oct 14, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Grant Perry recorded a shutout against the Buffalo Stars as Jersey Wildcats picked up a 4-0 win. Erik Andersson was all over the ice for Jersey Wildcats, as he tallied two goals in the win. Andersson found the back of the net 17:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jersey Wildcats and again while 15:30 into the third to make the score 4-0 Jersey Wildcats. Jersey Wildcats excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in 12 chances. Jersey Wildcats forced Buffalo goalie Lawson Fenton to work between the pipes, taking 61 shots. Jersey Wildcats' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Jersey Wildcats finished with 24 penalty minutes. Cory DeCosta also scored for Jersey Wildcats. In addition, Jersey Wildcats received assists from Jack Green, Geoffrey Liter, and Ryan Morse, who contributed one a piece and Brandon Crawley and Lucas Moser, who each chipped in two. The Stars put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Jersey Wildcats to score on any of its five power plays. Buffalo's offense rang up 53 shots on Jersey Wildcats' net. Perry rejected 53 shots on goal for Jersey Wildcats. Fenton recorded 57 saves for the Stars. Buffalo incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
